PLEASE NOTE: Properties will be removed from the list as payments are received from taxpayers. The website will be updated weekly.


The final update will occur after 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, for the Limited Auction and Batch1-2 of the Public Auction. The final update for Batch 3 of the Public Auction will appear at 12 pm - noon on May 9, 2022, after the Limited Auction.


April 8, 2022 - List of properties to be offered at tax sale becomes available on the tax sale website:


April 8 - 21, 2022 - Online tax sale registration for the 2022 Tax Sale begins. A non-refundable $150.00 registration fee is required and a $1,000.00deposit. The registration fee is not applied toward the purchase of tax sale certificates.


April 14, 21, 28 & May 5th, 2022 – Advertising in local newspapers.  Enquirer Gazette and The Prince George’s Post.


April 21, 2022 - Last day to register for the 2022 Tax Sale. You must upload your completed IRS W-9 and documents to be fully registered, by 5:00p.m. EST.


May 2, 2022 – The bid submission begins. Bids will be awarded to the highest bidder on May 9, 2022.


May 6, 2022 - Final tax sale listing will be posted on the tax sale website after 4:30 p.m. There will be a notation on the website indicating the final update has been completed. All accounts on the final listing will be auctioned on May 9, 2022, in two sales the Limited Auction followed by the Public Auction.


May 9, 2022 -Tax Sale - Certificates for the Public Auction will be grouped into (3) three batches, the Limited auction will have all one batch available.  Each account will be awarded to the highest bidder for each sale. Results will be displayed one hour following the close of each batch.


* Limited batch will close at 8:00 a.m. EST

* Public First batch will close at 10:00 a.m. EST.

* Public Second batch will close at 12:00 p.m. EST.

* Public Third batch Limited Sale leftovers will close at 2:00 p.m. EST


May 9, 2022 - Tax Sale ends at 2:00 p.m. EST. All successful bidders/purchasers will be notified by e-mail by 5pm.  Successful bidders must wire the total amount due for all winning certificates purchased, including the high bid premium, no later than 4:00 p.m. EST. on May 10, 2022 the day following tax sale.

Assignment Sale - Certificates for properties not purchased at tax sale on May 9, 2022 may be purchased at lien value after the tax sale. Date and time of the Assignment Sale and instructions will be posted on tax sale website after May 18th. Certificates to purchase will be listed on the home page starting June 15, 2022.


September 10, 2022 – Attorney information updated in Treasury system Legal fees (up to $500.00 + $250.00 title search fees and postage) must be paid to attorney and release must be obtained prior to tax account redemption.


November 10, 2022 – Foreclosure of Right of Redemption filings may occur after on this date. Additional legal fees may be incurred.

UPDATE 2/3/2022

All bids must be made in good faith. All bids placed, whether intentional or not, are the responsibility of the bidder and may not be withdrawn. Should a successful bidder not make full payment for any or all of the certificates that are awarded in the tax sale, including any associated High Bid Premium, they will not be awarded any certificates and they may be prohibited from participating in future tax sales. The certificates will be awarded to the next highest bidder. No budgets will be established for the purpose of determining the maximum amount allowable for the purchase of certificates. All bidders are required to monitor their auction account to ensure funds for successful bids are available for payment at the close of the auction. Please be aware that your information provided may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act (MPIA).
